The Sociedade das Pedreiras do Marco, Lda. was established in May 1967 with its Head Office in Alpendorada in the heart of Marco de Canaveses.The company specialises in Granite Exploitation. It produces high quality cubes, setts, mosaic and kerbstones in its plants at Lages and Recta (Alpendorada), and Roriz (Paços de Ferreira). The latter two quarries are equipped with modern stonebreaking systems.With increasing globalization of the granite industry and the company in particular, it today is one of the biggest Portuguese exporters (volume of sales 75%) with an annual turnover exceeding five million euros. Its warehouse in Matosinhos is an essential link with Leixões harbour, the main Granite exportation center in Portugal.
